Preparing a grand puppy list can never be enough and this can be really nerves wreaking especially if you are like me and you just want to avoid omitting the most important puppy supplies before bringing your new puppy into your dorm, apartment, or house.
You definitely won't forget to buy a puppy bed, feed supplies, and other new puppy supplies but at the same time, you might not think of some other few things that will come in handy especially to you while raising your new puppy for the first few weeks and months.
That's why in order to make you have an easy transition from being a dog lover to a super caring dog/ puppy owner, I have organized a grand list of some unexpected puppy things you might not remember to get, so as to save you the stress of having to get them later on.
UNEXPECTED PUPPY THINGS YOU MIGHT NEED IN YOUR APARTMENT.
1. Silicon Can Lids
‘’Chase and Cherish Definitely don't like cold food. The lids are easy to wash and prevent anything foreign from getting to their food. Best invention ever, in my opinion.’’
These can lid keep my puppy food moist from breakfast to dinner. A little hack to know is to turn the canned food over and warm it in the night for dinner!
2. Blow Dryer
I think this was a pretty cool dryer. It was so much better using this one vs a regular hair dryer which my dogs didn’t like. UPDATE!! I have been using this product a few times and my dog seems calmer with using it as the sound isn’t as loud as a regular dryer. My dog allows me to take my time and not rush. He really likes it.
3. First Aid Kit
‘’I bought this to travel internationally with my dog. I’ve never had to use it thankfully. The kit itself is durable and high-quality. It covers a variety of problems that could occur with your dog anything from trauma to sickness.’’
If there’s one scary experience I have had with my new puppy, then it should be when I accidentally cut her toenails while grooming her.
The look on her face was quite touching but thanks to the blood-stopping powder in this first aid kit, I was able to control the bleeding immediately!
4. Portable Paw Cleaning Kit
You definitely can't go wrong with this puppy paw supply kit from the cleaning wipes to the paw cleaner cup, they are just the complete puppy paw cleaning products to invest in!
5. Washable Dog Pee Pads
6. Shower Caddy
‘’The mesh is great because your bag doesn't get soaked if you set it on the floor. This would be a great beach bag too because the sand would just fall through. I highly recommend.’’
Thinking of organizing your dog grooming supplies? Try out something different using a mesh shower caddy. Plus this adds up to the organization of your mudroom!
A great option to puppy-proof bathroom supplies and organize your puppy grooming supplies as well, keeping chemical bottles out of their reach.
7. Anti-barking Device
8. Foldable Outdoor Playpen
‘’Outdoor playpens are amongst the top 20 of the most wanted and inexpensive puppy supplies amongst new puppy parents today.’’
The truth is, you are not going to be stuck indoors for long with your puppy. They also need some time out for themselves too!

11.Dehumidifier
My dogs are very prone to humid areas, hence they fall really sick. Buying a dehumidifier was one of the best decision I have made so far as a dog parent!’’
You really need to keep the air in your apartment space really free from moisture as this can accumulate dirt and make both you and your new pet friend fall sick. Since puppies are young, they are prone to disease-causing agents from your apartment where you raise them.
12.Pet Odor Exterminator Candles
These candles really does a great work of taking the bad odors and leaving my space house-warmed!’’
I L-O-V-E the creamy vanilla smell oozing out from these candles! You definitely want your friends or visitors to leave with a good impression even though you already have a pawed friend living with you.

19. Napkins
‘’ I definitely have A LOT to do in a day and I don’t like it when I have to clean up my puppy after every meal. I got her this napkins to aid her while eating and I think everything is going out smoothly between us!’’
Since dogs have shredding instinct in them, I would recommend getting a microfibre type of napkins than the regular paper types because as they grow into adolescent dogs they could start shredding all things paper you have in your apartment, even tissue papers as well!

Protect your most valuable furniture in your living room and bedroom, especially if you are living in an apartment with dogs to avoid paying for damaging costs and other expenses incurred while living with your pet dog.
24. Scrunchies with zippers
‘’I just wear it around my wrist and hide my keys and other extra small pieces of stuff in it and it just makes the difference.’’
This is actually a hack I learned while trying to jog with my puppy without carrying any bags or purses to hold important stuff like credit cards.
25. Dog DoorMat
"If you are needing this for "muddy paws" or "wet feet" - you will NOT be disappointed --- but my pup LOVES it for his bedding as well....and so do I. It shakes out nicely and it's just one of the best items I have ever ordered that actually met my expectation ’’
They are very absorbent and soak up dirt and water from your puppy's feet or your mud boots. You can also use them as bathroom mats after showering.
26. Urine Detector
"This thing is so good. It shows every single stain over the years where our dog peed when he was a puppy and still has accidents on the carpet. We thought we cleaned but you can clearly see all the spots. It also shows where dust is hiding that you don't even see when the lights are on. So in conclusion, this UV light is almost too good. It shines brightly over a large area at least 6 feet away. Now I can never lie on the carpet again cause I know where all the invisible stains are. They should sell this as a bundle with a carpet steam cleaner. Ordering two more as gifts. Haha!"
27. Dog Ear Cleaners
31. Puppy Health Record-Journal
BUY ON AMAZON
‘’ One of the embarrassing moment of my life, was when my new Vet asked for my puppy’s last vaccination record, I lost it! But never again, I got this journal to put down all my pet healthcare information and I think I feel more responsible as a dog parent.’’
Yeah, you actually do need a good journal to keep track of important medications your pet is going to be receiving, during its puppy stage like rabies vaccination, when next to meet with Vet, and other new puppy-related healthcare stuff.

Track your puppy growth rate with this puppy growth chart.
42. Hand-held Pet Hair Removing Vacuum
It’s so relieving not finding pet hairs anymore in my wardrobe, now I can wear nice smelling clean clothes, thanks to this fur removing vacuum!’’
If you are like me, who doesn't like wasting time on cleaning days, you probably want to invest in this special type of vacuum rather than the regular one you have in your apartment. Trust me, your puppy will shred, if not much but a little. And how does finding hairs and furs inside your cupboard, wardrobe, and even cooked food feel?
Not-so-good right?
You then need to consider investing in something of this nature to help relieve most of the hard work of removing furs from your space.
